Web Forms
Collect the Details Before You Collect the Signature.
Turn a template into an online form. Your signer fills it in on a page built for typing, then goes straight to signing.
How Web Forms Work
A form is built from a document you already send, so the questions and the paperwork never drift apart.
Why Teams Use Inkfree Web Forms
Typing into boxes laid over a PDF is the slowest part of most documents. A form takes that part off the page.
A Page Built for Typing
Long question sets are easier to work through in a web page than in fields positioned over a PDF, especially on a phone.
The Document Fills Itself
Submitted answers land in the signer's own fields on the document, so no one on your side retypes anything.
Filling and Signing in One Pass
Submitting the form opens the signing page for that document, so the signer never hunts for a second link. See [how it works at send time](/help/sending-documents/how-to-send-a-document-with-a-web-form/).
Built on Templates You Already Have
Any [saved template](/features/document-templates/) can carry a form, so you [set it up once](/help/creating-documents-and-templates/how-to-create-a-web-form-from-a-template/) and every send from that template can use it.
One Form per Signer Role
A form belongs to a specific role, so a two-party agreement can ask each party its own questions.
The Same Record as Any Send
The signed document keeps the audit trail, Certificate of Completion, and [encryption and compliance](/security-compliance/) of every other Inkfree signature.
Where Web Forms Fit Best
Any document that asks a signer for more than a signature is a candidate.
Onboarding and Intake
New-hire and new-client paperwork asks for a lot of typed detail. A form gathers it in one pass, which suits [HR and staffing teams](/industries/hr-staffing/).
Applications and Enrollment
Coverage selections and enrollment questions run long. Collecting them in a form keeps the document itself short, a fit for [insurance teams](/industries/insurance/).
Consent and Registration
Participant details typed on a phone at the front desk rather than tapped into a PDF, useful for [healthcare teams](/industries/healthcare/).
Multi-Party Agreements
Each side answers its own questions before signing, and [signing order](/features/signing-order/) still decides who goes first.
Anything You Send Weekly
When the same template goes out again and again, a form removes the same typing effort every time. Watch completion in [document tracking](/features/document-tracking/).
Requests That Start With a Question
Ask what you need to know first, then let the answers shape the document the signer executes through [Inkfree eSignatures](/esignature-software/). Web forms are included on the [Business plan](/pricing/).

A web form is an online version of the fields one signer has to complete on a document. It is built from one of your templates, hosted by Inkfree at its own link, and sent to that signer alongside the document itself.
No. Inkfree builds it from the fields already assigned to that signer on the template, including labels, placeholders, required flags, character limits, and dropdown choices. You arrange the layout from there in the drag-and-drop designer.
Text, long text, email, phone, date, dropdown, and checkbox fields. Signature, initials, and date-signed fields stay on the document itself, because they are captured during signing rather than in the form.
Their answers are written into their fields on the document, and they are taken straight to the signing page for that same document. Filling and signing run back to back.
Yes. The notification email carries both links. If the signer opens the signing link first, the form is recorded as skipped rather than left sitting open.
Yes. A form is tied to a single signer role, so a template with two roles can carry a separate form for each. You pick which form applies to which signer at the moment you send.
Web forms are included on the Business plan. Each plan sets its own limit on how many forms an account can keep, which you can compare on the pricing page.
