How to Edit an Existing Template

Last Updated: Oct 21, 20262 min read

Rates change, clauses get updated, logos get refreshed. Editing a template keeps every future send current, without touching anything already in flight. The same steps apply to templates you imported from the Template Library.

Making the Edit

1.  Open Templates in the sidebar.

2.  Find the template and open its menu (⋮).

3.  Choose Edit. From here you can:

•  Replace or update the underlying document.

•  Add, move, or remove fields.

•  Rename roles or adjust the signing order.

•  Rewrite the default email message.

4.  Save.

What Editing Affects

•  Future sends use the updated template immediately.

•  Requests already sent are untouched: they carry the version that existed when they went out, which is exactly what the audit trail requires.

Tip: For a major revision (new legal terms, new layout), consider duplicating the template first and keeping the old one until the new version is validated: instant rollback if something's off.
